Rules Refresh Video
We’ve got a series at Old Man Games called Rules Refresh. It’s not a full How to Play video, but instead just quickly covers the basic rules of a game. The intention isn’t to teach someone how to play a new game, it is to remind them how to play a game they’ve played in the past. The goal is get viewers to the table and playing as quick as possible, so we leave out special cases and smaller details and just give the basics in order to spark viewer’s memories. Our pricing for a Rules Refresh video is identical to a How to Play video, and that’s because we put just as much time and energy into creating them. Although we do save a bit of time by leaving out smaller details of a game, we add time by adding references and page numbers at the bottom of the screen in order for viewers to quickly reference their rulebook while watching the video.
