Meet the team

We’re so excited to have you here to share in our content, join our community and provide your feedback for our future projects. Old Man Games is comprised of two gentleman (for right now) named Kevin and Gabriel. Their mission is simple, bring the passion for board gaming, the mechanics, the design, and ultimately make the seemingly endless variations and experiences approachable for everyone!

When I was in my 20’s, I discovered modern board games and quickly jumped into the hobby with both feet. After finding out that my friend Gabriel was also getting into board games, we became closer friends as we dug deeper into the hobby together. Eventually, we discussed the idea of designing our own games and started working on a few game designs. Excited about things we may do in the future, we started researching the best ways to run a board game design/publishing company. One thing we found is that one of the hardest things for a new publisher is building an audience. When I was a teenager, I picked up my first camera and fell in the love with the video creation process. Now, I work as a professional videographer. So I thought “I might as well use my preexisting skills to build a YouTube channel and start building an audience now, long before we have any finished game designs.” I immediately started having fun making board game videos and my priorities shifted away from game design and more towards content creation. I started taking more game photos and began reaching out to publishers about possibly working with them. That’s where I’m at right now. I still want to one day publish my own game, if not multiple games, but I’m just having so much fun right now as a content creator and I love building relationships with game designers and publishers all around the world. If you’re interested in working with me, feel free to reach out! I’d love to work with you!

I've always been interested in design. When I was a child, my favorite toys included Lego(s) and K'nex. It was very satisfying making things from the plans that were provided, or just creating my own designs. I enjoy sketching, mostly using graphite, and I’ve recently started to paint miniatures. I am hungry to learn new things, and love to see how things progress over time. I’m currently working in a woodshop, designing and building custom cabinets, operaterating the CNC machine. With the CNC, I process sheets of plywood that become cabinets. The idea of using machines to make my ideas into physical products is so exciting to me! I have some college experience where I was working towards a degree in architecture. Being a design heavy major, much of my time was spent redesigning work that I had just finished. My favorite memories in school were spent with my colleagues completing drawings and building models.  When I started getting into modern board games, I realized that there is so much you can do with them. There is a wealth of creative activity that can be accomplished through modern gaming. Once I started talking about these games with my friend Kevin, I knew that we could somehow contribute to this wonderful community.  I would love the opportunity to create games. It would bring me so much joy to know that something I made created a positive experience for someone else.
